What is UI in mobile phones? And some popular OS with examples.
UI stands for user interface, which is used to optimize the user's interface. Each mobile phone company has its own UI based on Android, with modifications to suit its needs.
The User Interface(UI) is based on Android, so the UI is the layer the particular company changes according to its use case. For example, Asus uses ZenUI, which focuses on gameplay and a smooth user interface like stock.
Each mobile phone company has a uniquely designed User Interface. For example, some phones might be designed to deliver a good gaming or overall experience.
But Why does a phone company need to design its own UI?
Each company has its own customer base Asus Rog phones are intended for gameplay, and Oppo phones are designed for photo shoots. These things matter a lot for a firm so they modify the core UI as per their customer base and also due to Android policies and terms of use.
Some of the mobile interface examples are mentioned below in detail.
1. OneUI
OneUI is a popular Samsung-designed user interface. This UI has distinct features from the stock Android interface. Many enhanced features allow users to connect to the Samsung UI ecosystem. OneUI is used in phones, tablets, foldable phones, and watches.
This is only in OneUI that it has different versions of their UI, by this I mean that they provide a really good user interface for the premium but for the lower or budget model, the user interface is not that good. In the lower model, they also come with boltware some of them are removable and some of them are not removable.
2. OxygenOS
OxygenOS is known for its smooth performance and is used in OnePlus devices. Actually, it is UI, not an operating system don't get confused with its term OS. since many users have said that OxygenOS is the best mobile phone UI to experience.
OxygenOS is a highly rated User interface by the users as per their experience and overall use case. Most of them have said that this UI provides a stock Android-like experience.
3. FuntuchOS
This UI is designed by Vivo based on their user needs and it has customised its look as well as features distinct from other UI.
Not to confuse it with its term OS, which is the name, even though this is a user interface that modifies the Google stock Android. With this UI you will experience a completely different experience such its notification drawers from the bottom rather than the top like other mobile phones.
4. ColorOS
ColorOS is used on Oppo mobile phones and also earlier realme used to use. Even I have used this User interface and had a good experience. I have experienced a little use of ads and bloatware(unwanted software), which is removable.
The same thing implies here that this is not an operating system rather it is a user interface.
Recently realme has launched its own UI realmeUI which is slightly based on colorOS and they are changing this rapidly as per user demands and user experience. In its first phase, it gave the worst experience as per the previous user interface reported users.
Finally, there are also a few more User interfaces for different mobile phones like PixelUI for Google phones, MIUI for Xiaomi phones, and MyUX for Motorola phones.
Are UI and OS the same?
Well, it's not the same but the User Interface(UI) is from OS. An operating system is a whole software on which hardware is instructed to do the following core things calculation, processing criteria, and many more.
